1. Virtual Events Via Facebook- no registration required- like our Facebook Page “Pathways for Parents” to view these activities and more!
- Tuesdays - 1/3 , 1/10, 1/17, 1/24, 1/31 @ 7:30PM- View and Participate in this Facebook Live with Miss Jennifer-! This live will explore the concept of reading aloud to your child at any age and why that is important, while exploring reading techniques and strategies, reading statistics, as well as understanding the parts of a book.- on Pathways for Parents Facebook page.

- Grow, Play and Learn with Me-This group will include a storytime curriculum, fun play activities and the Ages and Stages Questionnaire. This program is geared for children ages up through age 5, with a caregiver.

- Yoga with Lisa Katz - Learn how to use your large muscles to support self regulation, while we bend, breathe and stretch with Lisa- for ages 2-5 with a caregiver.

- Music- with Renee Coro “Sounds of Reading”-Thursdays at 10:00AM- on 1/5, 1/12, 1/19 & 1/26- for ages - 2-5 years old, with a caregiver-at the Storrs Library - 693 Longmeadow Street, Longmeadow- Register by selecting the date/activity with the link at https://www.longmeadowlibrary.org/. The Sounds of Reading is a music based early literacy program that introduces creative ways to incorporate music and sound into books for young children and their caregivers. We will explore, teach and interactively read stories that incorporate song, sounds, rhythms and rhyme. We will utilize instruments, chanting and body percussion to engage the children and families in a dynamic and interactive style. Families will also gather a list of resources and books to take home and try on their own.

- Newbies--targeted for ages birth-15 months old-Participants in this group will receive developmental milestone information, ways to engage in floor time play, resources, and opportunities to connect to other caregivers of children this age.

- Music and Movement- for ages 2-5 years old - This group will incorporate moving your body while using songs that may focus on following directions, using your five senses and exploring your body in relation to the space around it. We will work on imitation,exploring and creating organic movements. Come enjoy this movement based group with your caregiver!

- Lunch Bunch- for ages 15 months-3 years old- This group will provide an opportunity for children and families to connect over building healthy relationships over food choices. We will work on incorporating and introducing items from the 5 food groups, while enjoying and creating a healthy snack together. This group will focus on sensory exploration with the foods we create, and listening to an interactive book while eating our creations. (Nut and dairy free foods will be offered).

- Communication and Cooking-- With Samantha Bernier, MA CCC-SLP, Speech Language Pathologist-Cooking is a great way to expand your child’s communication skills. It helps children learn how to follow directions, expands on vocabulary and creates a shared experience for the adult and the child. During the Zoom meeting, we will create a recipe together. While the recipe cooks, a book will be read together and will “chat” about the process. Prior to the meeting, participants will receive a recipe and a couple of visual supports to help increase the child’s independence.

- STEAM- for grades K-2nd-This virtual group will meet on Zoom. Children and families will explore the concepts of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math while completing the activity provided. Families can pick up the materials at the library after registration.

4. Parent Trainings
- Tuesdays - 1/3 , 1/10, 1/17 & 1/24 (4 week series) @ 7:00 PM on Zoom -Cultivating an Environment of Emotional Safety- with Peggy Hoime, certified family coach & certified behavior consultant in Association with the Fitzgerald Institute- This training will include ways to teach our children self-regulation. Influence is the greatest power we have in guiding our children. We will learn ways to create an environment of emotional safety. In this four-week series, "Cultivating an Environment of Emotional Safety," we will explore what emotional safety looks like and how to cultivate it. The information you will receive can have a positive impact on your family dynamics, creating more joy and cooperation. Please register by emailing Kelly at Pathwaysforparents9@gmail.com
- Thursday, 1/19 @ 6:30 PM on Zoom- Sensory Understanding- Parent/Caregiver Training on Zoom-with Nicole Landry on Zoom Thursday 1/19 @ 6:30 PM - In this training you will learn about how a "Sensory diet" can benefit your child and review "seeker" and "avoiding" behaviors. Suggestions and specific activities shared for you and your child to engage with. This program is hosted by the East Longmeadow Library. Register by emailing michele.lemire@eastlongmeadowma.gov
- Tuesday, 1/24 @ 6:00PM on Zoom- Communication and Play Parent/Caregiver Training on Zoom-Communication and Play is an interactive presentation with Meagan Golightly, M.A., CCC-SLP, Speech Language Pathologist- for parents/ caregivers and their child to help pinpoint supportive strategies to expand your child's language development...through play! This training will help parents/caregivers better understand their child's communication skill level and how to support the next stage of their development. Strategies will be shared on how to encourage "Serve and Return" communication. Ideas for toys to support communication skills will also be shared. This training is targeted for parents and caregivers of children ages 15 months - 4 years old. This training is hosted by the Hubbard Library in Ludlow.
