Opening Refrain: You’re beautiful in your way

'Cause God makes no mistakes

We’re on the right track, siblings

We were born this way

Don't hide yourself in regret

Just love yourself and you're set

We’re on the right track, siblings

We were born this way

One: God is calling us out.

Out of the places we hide

Out of insecurity

Out of shame

Out of cynicism

Out of fear

Out of isolation

Out from under that which silences love and justice.

One: Sacred siblings, God is calling us out of hiding and into the love and liberation we were created for, so let us sing:

Many (Sung): You’re beautiful in your way

'Cause God makes no mistakes

We’re on the right track, siblings

We were born this way

One: God is calling us in

Into joyous pride in who Creator made us to be.

Into liberation.

Into courage.

Into joy.

Into the protest.

Into the party.

Into a raucous celebration of contagious love and justice.

One: Sacred siblings, God is calling us out of hiding and into the love and liberation we were created for, so let us sing:

Many (Sung): You’re beautiful in your way

'Cause God makes no mistakes

We’re on the right track, siblings

We were born this way

One: Creator, you made us in your loving and liberating image.

In your wonderful, wild, and weird image.

In your transcendent and transgressive image.

In your weeping, laughing, embracing image.

Creator, you call us to come out of hiding and dance into your kin-dom.

And so we come to worship. Amen

One: We come to worship. So let us sing again:

Sung: You’re beautiful in your way

'Cause God makes no mistakes

We’re on the right track, siblings

We were born this way

Don't hide yourself in regret

Just love yourself and you're set

We’re on the right track, siblings

We were born this way

Sacred Readings:

Luke 6:20-28

Then he looked up at his disciples and said:

“Blessed are you who are poor,

for yours is the kin-dom of God.

“Blessed are you who are hungry now,

    for you will be filled.

“Blessed are you who weep now,

    for you will laugh.

“Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you, revile you, and defame you on account of the Son of Man. Rejoice on that day and leap for joy, for surely your reward is great in heaven, for that is how their ancestors treated the prophets. Unshackled from terror,

“But woe to you who are rich,

for you have received your consolation.

“Woe to you who are full now,

    for you will be hungry.

“Woe to you who are laughing now,

for you will mourn and weep.

“Woe to you when all speak well of you, for that is how their ancestors treated the false prophets.

“But I say to you who are listening: Love your enemies; do good to those who hate you; bless those who curse you; pray for those who mistreat you.

One: May Holy Wisdom enter through our ears.

Many: And may She find a home in our hearts.

Communion Song: We Are Setting the Rainbow Table

We are setting the rainbow table, we are planning a giant feast.

We are birthing a new creation for the lonely, the lost and least.

At that table will sit the weary, knowing welcome in their souls.

There is magic at that table for the broken know they are whole.

Come and sit at the rainbow table, full of colors and bathed in light.

Come and learn how the rainbow table offers grace to our rainbow lives.

Closing Communion Liturgy

One: We give thanks for these holy mysteries.

Many: Your glory has filled our hearts.

One: You have given yourself to us, God.

Many: Now we give ourselves to you and to all.

Closing Song: Ours the Journey (Chalice 458)

In the midst of new dimensions, in the face of changing ways,

Who will lead the pilgrim peoples wandering in their separate ways?

REFRAIN:

God of rainbow, fiery pillar, leading where the eagles soar,

We your people, ours the journey now and evermore.

Through the flood of starving peoples, warring factions and despair,

Who will lift the olive branches? Who will light the flame of care? REFRAIN

Should the threats of dire predictions cause us to withdraw in pain,

May your blazing phoenix spirit resurrect the church again. REFRAIN

Benediction: Either Rebecca or Rev Paul Allen

Postlude: Peace by Soul Junk
