Pre-Assessment

Create a Hula-Hoop Clock, label with time, hour hand, minute hand, O’Clock, quarter after, quarter to, half past (divide into quarters to connect to fractions)

Seatwork: Create a clock, label parts and quarter to, quarter past, half past, and o’clock

Day 2: 9G

Draw hands on analog clocks to match digital clocks and vice versa (vocabulary: analog/digital)

Model with anchor chart or hula-hoop clock how time can be written in analog/digital form; review how clock is like a number line

Seatwork: SW label clocks with the correct times based on a digital clock and vice versa

Day 3: 9G

Story situations with clocks. “She bakes a cake at 12:30, draw this on the clock.” Use some problems with quarter after, quarter til, half past, o’clock vocabulary

SW solve problems involving story situations. (Clock supplemental 2)

Day 4: 9G

A.M. vs. P.M. vocabulary/sort A.M. and P.M. situations and justify why – (28 week 2)

SW sort a.m. and p.m. cards, then complete an assignment on education galaxy (a.m. p.m. sort p. 10)

Day 5: 9G

Label clocks with problem situations involving AM/PM and justify

SW respond to whether the time of an event is a.m. or p.m. and justify in writing how they know.
