Dear Winston Parents,

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, staff, and faculty, I am happy to welcome you to the 2021-2022 school year! We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our students can achieve their highest potential. We recognize that to be successful in school, our students need support from both home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a significant difference in your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for the children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out this charge.

Our staff has been busy all summer planning to make this a successful year for all. Our theme for this year is: Promoting Excellence Through Determination and Hard Work.

As you know, there continues to be concerns and questions related to how schools plan to reopen this year. To promote the optimal academic, social, and emotional growth of our students, The Winston School will begin the school year with all students returning to traditional face-to-face learning with enhanced safety and cleaning procedures (there will be no “Choice” learning option). If a student has a rare and serious extenuating health circumstance, there may be a consideration for alternate services.

While we are in the business of educating, our first priority is the safety of our students, faculty, and staff. Our administrative team and medical advisor have continued to monitor the COVID-19 indexes. Additionally, we have kept abreast of the American Academy of Pediatrics and CDC recommendations as we’ve planned the new school year.

Following are the 2021-2022 COVID-19 Protocols:

Health Reporting requirements for our students, families, faculty, and staff continue to be necessary as we work to keep our school community safe, and we expect to:

As we continue planning for the upcoming school year, the administration, medical advisor, faculty, and staff understand that we must be proactive and prepared during these ever-changing times. Our goal is to continue educating our students even if circumstances change throughout the year related to the health and safety of the members within our community. I encourage you to frequently visit our webpage for up to date and accurate information.

Please know that we are committed to partnering with you to make this the best year we can for ALL our students. Countless hours have been expended to shape this year as one of tremendous growth and development for every Winston student. Thank you in advance for your continued support and positivity.

Welcome back! Together we will make this a wonderful year full of meaningful and joyful memories.

With warm regards,

Rebbie J. Evans
