EXPERIENCE
Staff Software Engineer and Tech Lead | Asana | San Francisco, CA
JULY 2023 - MARCH 2024
- As the Tech Lead of the Core Performance team, I rebuilt the team from a full quarter hiatus and set the team back up to speed. I established team processes, built the next year's roadmap and capacity planning, and led the team to ship a few projects in Q4.
- Delivered a few projects and initiatives myself such as authoring a new version of the Re-render performance tests and advocating for its adoption, and a new version of the initial Asana loading indicator, which drove engagement under perceived performance improvements towards PLG under the pillar's ARR goal.
- Led a cross-team customer escalation for a specific high-profile organization experiencing high user lag, where I primarily contributed with fixes that addressed several render performance issues, significantly enhancing user scrolling and pagination speeds on Portfolios. This work reduced Portfolio Grid's P95 Pagination Wait Time from 7.2s -> 3.2s for all domains, and Portfolio Page's P75 Search Field Opened Time from 1.2s -> 0.1s for this specific organization's domain.

MARCH 2019 - JUNE 2023
- As the Tech Lead of the Advertising at Scale team and technical owner of the Ads Manager creation interfaces, I authored the technical vision and assumed all the execution engineering responsibilities. I mentored all team members, ran cross-functional collaboration and represented the team on alignment meetings, drove and supported the team on shipping all projects and initiatives, pushed the team forward to achieving the proposed OKRs each quarter, while reacting and adapting to each reorg and direction change.
- Besides, I propose and ship projects myself, code review for 50+ engineers on a daily basis, participate on multiple weekly on-call rotation schedules (running deploys, monitoring stats, keeping systems healthy, responding to incidents), and perform technical interviews in Data Structure/Algorithms and Web domain.
- Established myself as a domain expert on a few topics within the 100+ engineers community of my organization (Business Interfaces & Growth), such as React, Redux, Flow, Unit Tests, Integration Tests, Accessibility, Web Performance and best practices in Web.
- Was a co-president of PinAble, the Pinterest ERG for people with disabilities (2021-2022). My work grew community activations by 100% in 2022, and I organized 3 major events with over 100 attendees, as well as several minor events, projects, community engagements, and fundraisers, ultimately raising awareness about accessibility and supporting people with disabilities in our company and our product.
- Was a co-lead of Todos Pincluídos, the Pinterest community of Latiné employees (2020). I hosted several events, contributing to initiatives and ultimately to the representation of Latiné people at the company.
- Won the Create Belonging Award on Makeathon 22 (Pinterest's hackathon) for my idea "Auto-generated captioning for Video and Idea Pins", where I assembled and led the team from idea to shipping.
