What’s happening?

On June 10, 2022, Reporting Center in Campus Solutions will change to a new format that matches the Fluid Navigation look-and-feel to provide a more intuitive user experience. More information on Navigating SIS Campus Solutions.

What are the specific changes?

You will still have access to all the reports that you are used to having via the Reporting Center, but the report menu and content window will look different. A summary is below; click on any of the links for more details on that item.

  1. New Fluid menu of sections, folders and reports is more dynamic and easier to navigate.
  2. Reports run in the same window, rather than opening in a new browser tab.
  3. The Report Lookup link is moving from inside the Reporting Center, to its own menu item on the Query/Reporting page.
  4. Additional content on the right side of the screen is being replaced by Query Viewer (by default), or report content once a report is selected.

New Fluid menu

The report menu on the left side of the screen will become more compact and dynamic. Sections and folders are closed by default, and clicking on a section opens a dedicated menu for that section only, showing just folders and reports for that section. (Note that your view will look different than the below screenshots due to individual reporting security.

Sections (gray bars) are expanded by default.

Folders are expanded and can’t be closed.

Report names are all visible simultaneously.

Clicking on a report name runs the report in a new browser tab.

Sections are closed by default. Some section names have changed.

A Query Viewer link is at the top of every page.

Select a section to view its contents (folders and/or reports). The current section name is displayed in the title bar.

Select a folder within the section to open it.

Select a report name to run it in the window to the right.

Select the < Reporting Center link in the upper left to return to the top-level menu of sections.

When a specific report is selected (in this case, Test Results), the Query Viewer search page is replaced with the prompts and/or the output of that report, in the same window.

Query Viewer search page is replaced with the prompts and/or the output of that report, in the same window.

Reports run in the same window

When you click on a report name to run it, the report will run directly in the main part of the same window, rather than opening a new tab as with the old version. As usual, enter any desired prompts and click “View Results.” (If there are no prompts, the report will run immediately and results will appear in the same window upon completion.)

If you want to have more than one report open at the same time, use the “New Window” link in the “three-dot” menu in the upper right of the screen to open a new Reporting Center window, and run the additional report from there.

Correct Way to Open a New Window

Do not use the “New Window” link that appears directly on the Query Viewer screen, or you will lose the report menu on the left side on the new tab that opens.

Wrong Way to Open a New Window

Report Lookup link

The Report Lookup link that was previously located in the top left of the Reporting Center window is moving out of Reporting Center, to its own link in the main Query/Reporting page menu.

Additional Content

The additional content items (Usage Alerts, Report List, Developer Resources, and Reporting Assistance) that were previously on the right side of the Reporting Center window are being removed.

The main pain of the Reporting Center window is now used only to display the Query Viewer search screen (by default), or the selected report content one a report is chosen.
