Duties of SGA officers

Being an SGA Officer is a wonderful opportunity! Please review the typical duties of SGA officers below.

Typical SGA Officer Duties

• SGA Officers must attend weekly SGA meetings. These meetings are typically an hour or less. Weekly meetings are held Friday at 11 AM PST, via Zoom.

• SGA Officers plan and host events for GBC students. These events have included: Bingo Nights, Movie Nights, dodgeball & basketball tournaments, holiday social events, speaking engagements, and a variety of other activities. Officers have the funding and creativity to plan events of all types! Events can be in the morning, during the day or in the evening. All officers are required to participate in each event in some capacity.

• Officers work with GBC administrators to determine student fees increases, help plan graduation activities, provide input on budget reductions/increases and a variety of other topics.

• SGA Officers may be asked to serve on GBC committees including hiring committees, student input groups, and  help with campus events for prospective students.
