Intro:  Welcome to Into the Nexus! The Heroes of the Storm podcast!

The Into the Nexus 400th EPISODE! Prepare for celebration and story time with Garrett and Kyle. For 7 years Into the Nexus has brought you non-stop Heroes of the Storm news and comment; but Garrett and Kyle go back 11 years to their first project StarCast. Join us for a journey through not only Heroes past, but a quest of content creation.

Grabbed some parts from old show notes. Plan is a celebration of us and our community, not necessarily a history of the game (as it only shows that things have slowed down and we’ve celebrated the past so many times)

30k is helping us celebrate with a giveaway!

Go to bit.ly/400nexus30k to enter to win a T Shirt, a Long Sleeve T Shirt or a Hoodie from 30k! Big thanks to 30k and Daxx for putting this together.

While you’re at it head over to shop.30korg.com and see all the rad merch that you have a chance to win.

It’s a WooRise giveaway so you may already be following us or checking out our channels. So make sure you go to bit.ly/400nexus30k to make sure you get entered.

April 10th - First episode of ITN titled Step One: Don't Die

Summer of 2014 I quit my data entry job in downtown Chicago and moved to Oregon and started freelancing full time.

I started working from home but still for a just under full-time job.

2015 in Heroes of the Storm

I started streaming October 3rd 2015

I got married and shortly after got the news that my job was going to cut my hours to a laughable amount. The combo of this Patreon and my first long-term freelance contract let me go full time work-for-myself right after New Year’s.

My favourite ITN moment was meeting Garrett at the World of Podcasts panel at Blizzcon 2019. It was my first time in southern California, first time at a major convention. I got to meet a lot of cool and familiar people, but I remember being in the crowd during that show with my ITN shirt and my Alliance hat on, going to stage left afterwards to meet folks. Garrett was taller than I expected, and we had a short convo before I gave way to everyone else looking to meet panel members. I was sad I didn't get to meet Kyle, but Kristen had just given birth to Flynn and he couldn't attend. I hope to see Garrett again and meet Kyle some day in Minneapolis!

My first Heroes/esports event at the 2015 Blizzcon was electric and amazing to see (and feel) in person. Most specifically, the C9 Murky pick up in the semi finals! That year they also announced Cho'Gall, Lunara, and Greymane in the main hall and everyone was ecstatic (and my elf/druid/sylvan-loving heart still mains Lunara today).

ITN wise, the following year in 2016, I met Kyle and Kristen (cosplaying as Sonya!) while watching some of the earlier Heroes matches. It was so fun getting to chat about the game and matches. Thank you for always being so kind and welcoming. Hopefully its okay to post this, but I can delete it if not - had to dig back quite a bit!

Br8kedown

I began listening to ITN when I started playing in 2017ish, which led me to TWBD, which led me to try some D&D with friends, which led to me being the full-time DM of our campaign that is 30+ sessions in (and the main town is called Principal City!, shout out to Beau)

My fondest memory of HOTS is November 2015 watching Blizzcon HOTS where Cloud 9 did the aba murky strat.  I had just adopted my dog that same day and I named him Tychus.  It was so cool seeing competitive HOTS being played like that and I was instantly hooked.

Access

Me and my buds have been playing Heroes for 6 years together now, it's always brought us together. I taught my girlfriend to play during lockdown and now we play every day after work. So HotS is a very special game to me, I can thank it for bringing me closer to the ones I love

Daxx

Episode #211 was the first episode I listened to. I remember it to this day.  I had sold my MTG collection and was heading to meet the buyer and had it in as I just got into Hots maybe a day or two prior. I couldn't wait to get home and play Deckard because the kit sounded so much fun.. and that began my Deckard Mainage as well as the addiction to Hots/ITN

De La Soak

My girlfriend got me into HOTS during the overwatch-hots genji skin promotion and, shortly after, I started listening to the podcast and realizing that I'd heard Garret and Kyle before back when I was hooked on Starcast during long bike rides to and from work!

Now, my GF and I are many seasons deep playing together in NGS. I still prattle on about "what garret and kyle said this week" when I recount episodes of ITN for her while she patiently listens

GhostOtter

I cannot remember the episode, but my favorite ITN moment was when someone wrote in saying that they gave the advice they learned on the show in a storm league game, and another player on their team started bashing Garrett and Kyle. I forget the direct quote but it was something along the lines of "Those guys who give don't hold real conversations." Garrett's response of cracking up and calling the guy a weirdo and some other random insults had me dying of laughter.

Mosley

My favorite Heroes and @Kyle_Tarrasque moment was at the Seattle Heroes of the Dorm event.  I met Kyle and Kristen in line to get into the event.  Kristen was cosplaying as Sonya at the time.  The event was amazing with so many of the devs, lots of giveaways, and great heroes action.  Michael Udall's team won and I won the bracket challenge for $10000.  While I did get to see Kyle and Garrett a year later at , the Seattle event was a highlight.

Another good memory was when ITN, the Core, and other podcasters got together for some fun made up games. The first team to 100 coins on blackheart was hilarious when someone died. Coins everywhere.
