Fall Play Auditions- Monday October 2nd!
We are pleased to announce auditions for the Fall Play! Please pick up an audition packet outside of Room 114, and see the following reminders below.
Please note, auditions are MONDAY OCTOBER 2nd, and CALLBACKS, TUESDAY, OCTOBER 3rd.
To Do List for Auditions/Applications (All Cast and Crew):
- CAST AND CREW: Fill out an audition form. Please have your audition form complete prior to auditions. (https://forms.gle/zERrjvUAfMAmDvxL8)
- Cast Applicants: Select one audition side that best fits your desired role. You may list two characters on your audition form. Prepare only one side (pick one part). You do not have to memorize your audition side, but it is highly encouraged so you can feel comfortable.
- Crew Applicants: Fill out an audition form and attend our first all cast/crew rehearsal on Thursday, October 5th. For first role, put the type of crew (Stage Crew, Tech Crew, Sound Crew, Costume Crew, etc.) you want to be considered for. Crew is not auditioning on the 2nd, but applying via the audition form and our meeting on the 5th
Cast: On the day of auditions…
- Arrive to the auditorium at 2:40. We will briefly review procedures.
- Student Leaders and Mr. Hong will call up characters by audition side. Each student will have the chance to read their side one time.
- Students are free to leave after auditions, or they may remain in the auditorium until 4:30. Please be mindful of noise in the hallway.

Fall Play All Cast/Crews Production Meeting
- Will be held on Thursday, October 5th from 2:30-4:30 PM in the Auditorium. All students involved in the fall play are required to attend.
- We will be reviewing information for our upcoming production, as well as key information in the THEATRE HANDBOOK.
- Please process all payments online through E-Commerce, not cash or check orders
- Delivery direct to door OR ship to organization(the school, for you to distribute)
- Student profit: $8-$10 per item ordered
- Consider downloading the iFundraiser App to sync with a few contacts in your phone and boost sales.
Independent Study Virtual Assignment for week of 10-2
- No rehearsal on Tuesday, October 3rd due to Fall Play Callbacks. Our next rehearsal is 10-10 from 2:30-3:30.

- Missed rehearsal last week?? If you need to make up a rehearsal during the school day, please come THURSDAY, Sept 28th from 10:00-10:30. See Mr. Hong for a pass.

Choir Uniform Fittings Beginning Monday, 10-2
- PHS Choir has a stock of Choir Gowns and Tuxedo Shirts. We will rent these pieces to students for the duration their time in PHS Choir. Please see the Choir Handbook for more details.
- Mrs. Stevens will be coming to Period 2 Choir in the coming days. Thank you Mrs. Stevens for helping to hem the gowns!

Penn State “In-Low Voice” Festival: October 21st
- Please check your email for updates if you registered. There is a waitlist for the trip.
Save the Date: “Coffee House” Performance Wednesday, November 1st at 6:00 PM
- “Coffee House” is our annual fundraiser open mic held in the PHS Cafeteria.
- Students from choir volunteer to perform or serve coffee, tea, and treats.
- Performers will sign up beginning in October. Performances may be alone or with a group. Students will need to perform their song for Mr. Hong when signing up.
- All students in Concert Choir and Madrigals are expected to volunteer at the event, as one of our fundraisers and performances. Choirs will also perform a selection or two.
PHS Theatre Announces our 2023-2024 Theatre Season
- Our Fall Play, “THE ONE ACT PLAY DISASTER” will once again be led by our student leadership team with mentorship from our PHS Theatre Staff. “...DISASTER” is a classic play gone wrong. They play centers around a student group producing their original production of ‘Oceans Eleven’, and things couldn’t be going worse. Our real life student leaders will make this ‘Disaster’ one to remember!
- Auditions: Monday, October 2nd After School. Callbacks Tuesday, October 3rd after school as needed.
- Show Run: Friday, November 10th 2023 at 7 PM and Saturday, November 11th 2023 at 2 PM.
- PHS Theatre proudly announces our spring musical, “THE ADDAMS FAMILY”. This musical adaptation of the popular film and franchise comes to life in this popular musical. Wednesday Addams brings the love of her life home to the Addams mansion to meet her family, wishing for just one normal night.
- Auditions: Tuesday, December 19th (auditions first call), Wednesday, December 20th (choreography call), and Thursday, December 21st (Callbacks, as needed)
- Rehearsals Run:
- January: Monday through Friday for Principal Roles, Tuesday and Thursday for all cast. Saturday Rehearsals for principals as needed due to weather.
- February: Monday through Friday for Principal Roles, Tuesday and Thursday for all cast. Full Cast and crew rehearsals Saturday mornings.
- Pre-Production and Technical Week: February 17th until opening, all cast and crew called
- Show Run: Thursday, February 29th 7PM. Friday, March 1st 7PM. Saturday, March 2nd 2PM.

Disney Choir Trip SPRING ‘24! (March 25th-28th)
- All forms and trip information can be found in the PHS Choir Disney Information Hub.
- The trip is open to all students who are enrolled in Concert Choir (course or independent study) or Madrigals , late registration is permitted.
- A reminder that all payments are processed through the tour company.
