- The most important role of a class mentor is connecting with our students and serving as a caring adult that can also be a resource to our students. We hope to build our student’s social capital by introducing them to successful adults.
- Connecting with students by asking them questions about their life and remembering details, learning about and respecting their differences, sharing about your own life (even embarrassing and funny stories), and being willing to not be too serious.
Optional: Many of our students attend schools that allow us to have lunch with them (Legacy Charter, Berea High School, Carolina High). If you are able, we’d love for you to join us once a month to have lunch with our students at their schools!
