On the desktop, click on the Finder icon in the Dock.

Select Go in the Menu bar located in the top right side of the desktop.

Choose Connect to Server at the bottom of the dropdown menu.

When prompted, enter the appropriate address in the Server Address field. Examples include:


CMA Storage

smb://storage.cma.biola.edu

Journalism Storage
smb://storage1.biola.edu

Click Connect.

Enter your NetID and password, then click Connect.

A list of shared folders will appear.

Select the shared folder you wish to connect to, then click OK.

The shared folder should automatically open in a new window. If it doesn't, you can find the shared volume either on the desktop, or in a Finder window under the Shared heading.

To disconnect from a shared folder, drag the icon to the trash, or click the eject symbol in a Finder window.

Open the Windows File Explorer.

Right-click on This PC, and select Map Network Drive.

When prompted, enter the appropriate address in the Folder field. Examples include:

CMA File Server

\\storage.cma.biola.edu\

Journalism File Server
\\storage1.biola.edu\

Click Browse

Click on the server name.

Enter your Biola Email Address and Password then select OK.

Select the Folder you need to access. Then click OK


Keep in mind, your access may be denied to specific folders. Notify your professor or supervisor if you need to request access.

Click Finish.  Your file server folder is now mounted.

A new file explorer will open revealing the files for the folder you selected.

You can locate your file server folder in the File Explorer window under This PC → Network locations

Follow these instructions again to mount additional folders.
