We will reminding ourselves that having a ‘Growth Mindset’ which is all about being willing to ‘take risks’ and ‘have a go’ also help us learn.
We have successfully appointed a Deputy Head who will start after Easter. Congratulations to Mrs Lewis who will take over after Easter.

Year 5 and 6 - Save the Date
On Wednesday the 6th June 2018 members of staff from St Birinus School and Didcot Girls’ School will be visiting school to speak to the parents/guardians of all Year 6 boys and girls who will be joining St Birinus School and Didcot Girls’ School in September 2018. The parents of all Year 5 boys and girls are also very welcome to attend this transition meeting. The talks to parents/guardians and students will begin at 9.00am and should last no more than 1 ½ hours. Staff at St Birinus School and Didcot Girls’ School find conversations with parents/students are vital so they would really appreciate your time and attendance at this meeting. They will also be talking to Year 6 teachers to ensure as smooth a transition to secondary school as possible.
Non-uniform for tombola
The last day of term will be a non-uniform day where we ask for a donation of a prize that we can use at the school fete on the 27th April. We do ask that you bring only good quality items and ones that are still in date. Please bring them to the library in the morning.
Youlbury Parent Information Meeting - Wednesday 28th March, 5:30pm
On Wednesday 28th March at 5:30pm, there will be an information meeting for year 4 parents and children in the school hall. Please come along to find out about what the trip will involve, collect any extra paperwork and hopefully have all your questions answered.
Following the parenting taster session on 1st March in the school, a parenting group is being planned to run for 5 weeks after the Easter holidays. Two parents attended the taster session with their younger children (very poor weather was on the way!) but a few more parents are needed to make a viable group. We will meet either at school on Fridays 1.30pm – 3pm (younger siblings welcome), or on Thursday evenings in a parent’s home.
Mums and Dads, if you are interested, please fill in the tear off slip at the bottom of the Newsletter and leave at reception, indicating your preference. Louise will contact you before the end of term.
