Remember!
In all things, safety is paramount. Tech inspectors reserve the right and authority to fail a cart if the safety of the driver or others is at all questioned. Teams are recommended to look at the cart with fun in mind, but also to remember that the safety of others is at stake.
Racers are going to be held liable for damaged or lost transponders. By obtaining race tech approval, you are agreeing to this. Please position them in a safe place and have them checked at the instruction of Auto Society race officials. Each transponder is worth $75.
Warning:
All campus roads are closed for go-kart driving outside of race day. If drivers desire to practice, an organized event must be set up after campus operating hours and a request sent to University Police. After operating hours are roughly from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM (but not after dark). Suggested areas for practice are the society drive (in front of Auto Society) and the parking lot behind Glaske. The Belcher Center parking lot may also be used if an organized time is set up outside of event days.
Storage: Due to fire marshall and code requirements, karts are not to be stored with fuel cans that contain fuel. Cans must be stored in an appropriate storage unit and kart tanks should be drained when put into storage. Karts are not to be stored in any living facility, and must not block any exits to any building no matter what. This applies only to karts and fuel stored on campus property.
