Palestine 36: Annemarie Jacir's historical drama centres on 1936 Mandatory Palestine, where a unified Palestinian uprising and rising Jewish immigration intensify conflict against British rule. Very helpful in understanding Britain’s complicity with Zionism. In 2019, Palestinian filmmaker Annemarie Jacir and her sister, artist Emily Jacir, opened a cultural centre called Dar Yusuf Nasri Jacir for Art and Research in the restored house in Bethlehem that their grandfather built in 1890.
