To report a power outage to Duke Energy, you can call 1-800-769-3766. You can also report outages online by clicking here.
If you see a fallen power line or a safety hazard, call Duke Energy officials at 1-800-769-3766. To check the status of current power outages, click here. As storms roll through, report your outage and get restoration updates by texting OUT to 57801.
HAYWOOD EMC CUSTOMERS
Visit the power outages page on the Haywood EMC website. To report or inquire about power outages, call 1-800-951-6088. You may also contact your local district office by calling the Waynesville office at 828-452-2281 or the Lake Toxaway office at 828-966-4215.
Downed power lines can still be energized—and therefore dangerous. If you see a downed power line, please call your local district office immediately.

The JV Football game at Franklin has been moved to Wednesday night due to concerns about the weather. The game will now be played Wednesday, October 10th and an hour earlier. 6PM Kick-off.

“Due to tomorrow's weather we are going ahead and moving the women's Mtn. 6 tennis tourney from Thursday to Friday, October 12 at Brevard College.
“Coaches will meet at 10 a.m. and start play around 10:30 a.m. Hopefully, the wind will help dry the courts in time to start by 10:30 a.m. on Friday.”
With the threat of bad weather tomorrow, we are going to move our JV football game at Christ School to Monday, October 15 at 6:00. There will be no need for an early dismissal on Monday.
BMS Football is cancelled for Thursday, October 11. The school is rescheduling, looking right now at Monday, October 15 at 6:00. This is not firm, date and time to be determined.
