Sunday CC Roundup 9/22

I have been reading a new book about running and it is discussing the importance of diet and how it can easily improve performance.  So, I am challenging the team to give up sweets and soda from Monday morning until after the meet Saturday and see if it affects their performances in Lakeland.  Just an FYI if your child shockingly doesn’t want dessert at night.

This week our focus will be on Flrunners.com by far the largest meet we will run at all season. But before we hit those details, here are the results from our last meet.

Gulf Coast Stampede Results

Bale and Trail Results

“Runners of the Week”

Varsity Boys

The Bale and Trail showed the Varsity Boys a taste of the post season, seeing 6 top 15 teams in the State.  As a whole, the team ran well, but the award this week goes to Senior Tommy Eggers, who ran a season best by 37 seconds.

Varsity Girls

After a slowish start to the season, Jr Lillian Holtery showed the fierce competitiveness that is her trademark.  After a planned conservative start for the first mile, Lillian made up significant ground the rest of the race and with a strong finish ended up in the top 10.

JV Boys

Over in Gulf Breeze, season bests were being run by just about every athlete, but none more impressive that the PR by John Fontejohn.  John ran a season best by a minute and lowered his all time pr by 30 sec.

JV Girls

On the girls side, Sophomore Lily Tucker (apparently it was the weekend for Lilllies).  was the top finisher on the ladies side and ran a season best by 50 seconds.  Last year’s jv county champ (unrecognized due to an error by the meet director...me) is moving forward.
