2nd Annual GSMST Math Tournament
Dear Math Team Sponsor,
Our Math Team and Mu Alpha Theta chapter cordially invite your school to participate in the First Annual GSMST Math Tournament on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
GSMST is located at 970 McElvaney Ln NW, Lawrenceville, GA 30044, next to the Maxwell High School of Technology.
This tournament will be state-qualifying. All team results will be sent to state tournament organizers.
Every student at this tournament will participate in the Varsity level, regardless of grade or current math course.
Each team consists of four students. Teams can have less than 4 students, but they would compete at a disadvantage. Each school may send a maximum of 3 teams.
Individuals not competing on a team may participate. They will take the individual round and be ranked, but they cannot officially participate in the team round. However, individuals may try the team round questions for fun!
The tentative schedule for March 9, 2019 is below.
Individual Round: Everyone will take the individual round. We will award the top 10 individuals.
Team Round: Each team will work together on the team round. We will award the top 3 teams with the highest sum of individual points and team points.
No calculators are allowed on any portion of the competition.
Lunch will not be provided. There are many restaurants within walking distance of GSMST.
Please refer to the maps included for parking instructions and restaurant locations.
The cost for participation is $30 per team and $10 per non-team individual. The deadline to register is February 23rd. Payment is due by the day of the tournament.
