KMG Natural History Global Camera Crew Rates Guideline 2022

Using information from the KMG global rates survey in July 2022 completed by 174 freelancers, these are the KMG suggested global rates for camera crew working within natural history.

-         All contracted days should be charged at full rate

-        Crew rates should rise every year in line with inflation.

-        Crew should always quote for 12 hour working (not shooting) days, where overtime may be charged for excessive working hours.

-        Main camera roles within natural history should be referred to as DoP, Cinematographer, or Camera Person (all can be prefixed with ‘Junior’). The term ‘operator’ should be reserved for other genres outside of natural history.
