When Elon Musk took over Twitter, he vowed that useless employees would be laid off or fired.  Recently, one person who was fired was a person with a disability.  Do you know the ADA - the Americans with Disabilities Act?  The ADA establishes and lists rights of people with disabilities in public life.  One aspect of public life is work.  The ADA says that an employer discriminating against a person with a disability is illegal.  

I will explain why Elon fired a person with a disability.  Twitter hired a man named Haralour Thorleifsson.  I will abbreviate his name as “HT.”  HT has muscular dystrophy, meaning that many of his  muscles are weak.  HT has a wheelchair.  HT owns a company, but sold it to Twitter, meaning that he works for Twitter.  

I don’t know specifically what HT’s job is, but he sits and types at a computer.  HT says that it is a struggle to sit and type at the computer.  Elon laid him off.  

Remember before, when I explained the ADA?

Liberals are mad, because they say the ADA protects HT, meaning that Elon laying him off is illegal.  The ADA says that employers are not allowed to discriminate in hiring.  The ADA allows for reasonable accommodations.  

What does “reasonable accommodation” mean?  Well, it’s complicated.  Sometimes it’s related to how much money would be spent on the accommodation.  Sometimes it would be related to, well, a company might offer accommodations, but after receiving the accommodations, the worker’s performance doesn’t improve.  

HT must type, but his condition means that he struggles to sit at a computer and type.  Elon laid him off, because all day, HT refused to type, but after work, he went home and typed and posted to Twitter at night.  This indicates that HT can type.  Really, he’s just lazy.  

Remember that Elon vowed to fire or lay off lazy or useless employees.  

Additionally, liberals said that Elon mocked HT.  In reality, all Elon did was to expose HT’s laziness and hypocrisy.
