Hebrews 11: Faith That Moves Us Forward

Enoch and Walking with God

————————————————————————————————————————

This week in our current series, we looked at the life and faith of Enoch. Take some time to read these passages together…

• Hebrews 11:5
• Genesis 5:21-24

We don’t know a lot about Enoch, but we for sure know two things…

1. Enoch grew old but never died
2. By faith Enoch walked closely to God

The second one is what we’ll spend talking about as a group. Walking Closely with God.

There are two specific ways we want to look at this…

1. Staying close to Jesus as a church family
2. Staying close to Jesus ourselves

Staying close to Jesus as a church family

• How can we as a group stay close to Jesus?
• How does our group, and others just like it, strengthen the church family?

Staying close to Jesus ourselves

• Read 2 Peter 3:18. It is so important to have a church family and to grow close to Jesus together. However, as individuals, we are responsible for our own spiritual growth.

• What are some ways that you take responsibility for growing close to Jesus?
• What is the true measure of one’s love for the Lord?
• How can we worship the Lord in everything we do?
• What does it mean to be grateful?
• How do you use prayer as a means to grow closer to Jesus?

Prayer Focus: Pray that Jesus would draw near to you as you give your effort to draw nearer to Him.
