The new school year brings many changes and new staff members to Lincoln High School, some coming from previous teaching experience. These 3 staff members bring a fresh perspective inside and outside of classrooms.
Lincoln High School is evolving, and it's important to have passionate figures at school to look up to. Social Science teacher Kaitlyn Hundal explains why she chose LHS and how she will continue to contribute to our community.
“I chose Lincoln High School because it has such a good community, and when I did my interview, the whole panel was very sweet,” Hundal said. “I observed the school a couple of times, and I saw just like kids interacting nicely, and I was going to be a part of that.”
Before coming to Lincoln High, Media and Photography teacher Brian Harden worked at a Catholic School as the director of technology. He chose LHS because of the community and culture at LHS
“It’s pretty tight knit here, and I was longing for some of that,” Harden said. “I just love how the staff members, the students, and the admin, everybody are on one accord, and that sticks with me.”
Harden has enjoyed being a part of that community this school year.
“Every time I see someone here, student, staff, everybody’s just so happy to see each other,” Harden said. “And that means a lot.”
As the new teachers settle in, the real impact is happening within the classrooms. ELD 2, World History, and Language Lab teacher Daniel Rios explains what he has seen within the students at LHS.
“I think that there’s a strong culture here, students have fun, students are laid back, and students are prepared to take on real-world challenges,” Rios said.
Overall, LHS has been treating the new staff members well and Ms. Hundal is happy with the school she chose to teach at.
“I really like Lincoln High School,” Hundal said. “I think the kids are amazing, the staff is super nice.”
