Wellbeing of staff and customers

Exclude people who are unwell from the premises.

Prior to the use of a premise for our nominated activity, all participants will be emailed the same information they will be asked upon physical arrival. This ensures we reduce the risk of infectious attendees being present at a Glee session.

Before entering the premise, a nominated member of our organisation will check the following with our participants:

If they have answered yes to any of the above points, the nominated coordinator, organiser or person in charge, will ask the participant to leave and notify the premise immediately.

If a member has tested positive to COVID-19 (either via PCR or RAT test) they are asked to let our organisation know as a matter of courtesy and we will post a bulletin or message to our members and venue. We expect the member to then follow the latest NSW Health rules for COVID positive cases.

Provide staff with information and training on COVID-19, including COVID-19 vaccination, when to get tested, physical distancing, wearing masks, and cleaning.

Our organisation provides a PDF document to all our staff, volunteers, members, students and contractors with information on when to get tested, physical distancing, wearing masks and cleaning.

All our staff, volunteers and associated contractors have been fully vaccinated.

Our staff are asked to get tested (RAT or PCR) immediately if they present any COVID-19 flu-like symptoms and remain isolated until a result is returned. During this time, a replacement staff member may be asked to take over or the activity/session will switch to online mode via ZOOM or be postponed to a later date.

All staff and participants will adhere to the latest rules of what is allowed for venue capacity based on the square metre ruling or class limit.

Masks are encouraged to be worn by those who are immuno-compromised and cleaning measures as set out by the venue/premise will be abided by our staff and participants.

Encourage staff to access COVID-19 vaccination.

As per NSW Health's current regulations, both vaccinated and unvaccinated persons will be permitted to enter or conduct an activity at the premise/venue unless the venue or organisation states otherwise.

Our organisation will adhere to the capacity restrictions as required by the venue and NSW Health

Members/participants will be encouraged to respect social distance and spread out in the room. We support 1.5m physical distancing where possible by all participants and will place chairs in a way that supports this physical distancing.

With our sessions being held indoors, the capacity is as given by NSW Health or the venue..

Avoid congestion of people in specific areas where possible.

A staff member/coordinator will be monitoring and reminding everyone of social distancing measures and to avoid congestion of people in specific areas.

Only registered people who have been given permission to attend a particular session/class are allowed to enter the building.

Have strategies in place to manage gatherings that may occur immediately outside the premises.

All members/participants will be required to leave the premises within 15 minutes after their session or class has finished. They will also be asked to enter the premises upon arrival, find a seat and to avoid congestion in any entry or waiting areas.

Ventilation

Our organisation will adhere to the ventilation rules and best practice as put forth by the venue/premise. Where practical, we will keep doors and windows open to increase natural air ventilation. Where available and as permitted by the venue/premise, we will use mechanical ventilation to increase airflow and ventilation.

Face masks encouraged to be worn by staff and customers in indoor areas, unless exempt.

Staff, volunteers, members and participants are encouraged to wear face masks where physical distance can not be adhered to due to space restrictions.

These exceptions from wearing face masks indoors are:

Adopt good hand hygiene practices. Have hand sanitiser at key points around the venue.

Our organisation will adhere to the signage and notices on display in key areas around the venue/premise for good hand hygiene. ie. Kitchen, bathroom, common areas etc.

Hand sanitisers should be easily accessible to all our staff and participants.

Ensure bathrooms are well stocked with hand soap and paper towels or hand dryers.

We will be guided by the venue/premise to ensure bathrooms are well stocked with the necessary hand soap and paper towels. However, our staff and volunteers will be available to obtain and provide these items should they be unavailable.

Cleanliness and Hygiene

Our organisation will communicate good hygiene practice to all our participants prior to attendance of rehearsals or any singing session held at the venue. This will be done by email and notification to our online system’s announcement system.

We will bring our own equipment where applicable along with the necessary materials required to run the class or rehearsal session.

Record of name, contact number and entry time for all staff, customers and contractors.

Our organisation will keep electronic records of all participants who attend our singing sessions, along with mobile and email details. This allows us to quickly communicate with our participants of any COVID-19 related cases during a session.

Should a participant attend a session without prior registration, an online system via our mobile app will be available to collect the registrant’s information.
