Dear Parents/Guardians and Students of Ignacio Schools:
Welcome to a new and exciting school year. The School Board and the Administrative Team would like to officially welcome you to Ignacio Schools. School offices will open August 8, 2018. Any questions, please visit the school offices. Students report to school on August 27, 2018. Registration for all students is done online by visiting our home page www.ignacioschools.org and follow the link on top of the page.
Excitement continues all over the Ignacio School District as we keep improving in our academics and course offerings for all of our students. We are excited to add more AP (Advanced Placement) classes at the secondary level. Students who take these classes will be better served in college classes due to the AP class rigor. Several staff members attended classes this summer in preparation of instructing under their guidelines and requirements.
Our goals is to keep improving the quality of education that Ignacio’s students receive. Improvement on our academic performance still remains a top priority for the district. Congratulations to all our students that made Ignacio proud in academics in state competitions and the athletic fields last year. Keep up your great work!!!
During this year, I will keep on having high expectations from administrators, teachers, support staff, students, parents and myself. These expectations will be accomplished if all of us work together as a team.
As a school, we will provide a safe and inviting environment. We will provide a positive school climate so that all students can learn. Teachers and staff are committed to these beliefs. Make our new staff members feel welcome in our community.
Safety and security for our students is our top priority. We are implementing additional security measures this year by having School Resource Officers in our buildings, all cars will need to be registered and high school and middle school students will be issued identification cards to have with them at all times. We will continue to provide training for all of our staff in situational awareness, social emotional services, suicidal prevention and more counseling for students in trauma.
We will expect students to come to school ready to learn. We expect them to be in school every day fully prepared. Attendance plays a big role in the education process. You, as a parent, must have your student present every day. We expect students to participate in extra-curricular activities, support each other in those activities, and accept responsibility for their education, decisions and actions.
As parents, we would like for you to become involved in the education of your students. Establish high expectations in the quality of your student’s work and be concerned about their progress. Check your student’s grades, attendance and behavior weekly by using the student portal. Contact the school’s office if you need a password.
Parental responsibility should be your goal to support your students in academics, extra-curricular activities, social, emotional as well as providing basic needs. I encourage you to participate in the many activities and become involved in our schools.
Each building has revised the student handbooks and many rule, procedures and guidelines have changed. I strongly suggest that you read the handbook that is issued to your students and if you have any questions, please contact the building administrator.
This year parents can join our Corporate Sponsors program. Any person that would like to support Ignacio Schools programs and its students would have a chance with this program. For $100 per year, a person can help the district offer quality extra-curricular activities. Your name would be placed in the scrolling scoreboards as a friend of Ignacio Schools. This program is only for individuals and families.
My door will be always open to answer any questions that you might have. You are welcome to come and visit our schools and volunteer for any of the many activities during the year. This help is always appreciated.
I am looking forward to a great and successful year for all our school community in every activity. Every aspect of our school plays an important role in the total education of your student and we all need to be playing that role together as a team. Dear Individual or Corporate Sponsor:
Ignacio School District offers many different programs for all of our students and you have been a great supporter of all the programs in the past. With many budget constraints and without your constant support many of these programs might not be able to be offered. Under these circumstances, I encourage you to become an individual or corporate sponsor for our programs for the 2018-19 school year.
This past year many activities and sponsorships would not have taken place without the help of our Corporate Sponsors program. Due to this generosity, we were able to help pay for activities that encouraged better spirit in our schools, team building activities, good behavior rewards, good attendance rewards, academic banquet rewards, purchased musical instruments, helped purchase athletic equipment, sponsored part of the 8th grade trip, helped students attend leadership training in Washington DC and Maryland and helped many of our students with Science Fair, History Day, SkillsUSA, Spelling Bee at State competitions, FFA National Convention, Marine Biology trip and sponsored a Veteran’s Day concert. Also, we purchased signs for our new sponsors for the football stadium and the gymnasium.
If you and/or your business are interested in one of our corporate programs, please send us a note with the information that you would like on the signs and your check. Thank you in advance. If you have some special request or if you need to have more information about the program, please call the school office at 563-0501 and I, personally, will be more than happy to help you.
Please find attached a copy of the corporate sponsor programs. We hope that you would sponsor one of the programs that better serves your needs.
We have a system in place that enables us to notify you of funding recipients. Criteria will meet our high expectations for academics, activities, and athletics. The end of the year letter will include all the above information to each sponsor.

CORPORATE SPONSORS PROGRAMS
Ignacio School District will offer individuals and businesses in the area Individual/Corporate Sponsor Programs that we hope will benefit both Ignacio Schools and your business. This program will offer three options for support and advertising so that we can better meet the needs of all its supporters.
In this program, sponsors will be able to have their business logo placed in three different areas: on the bleachers located at the sports complex, on the wall in the gym, and on the scrolling scoreboards. The signs will be 20” by 96”and they will be displayed from September 2017 through August 2018. The cost for this option will be $1500. These corporate sponsors will also receive two activity passes so they can attend any home athletic event they wish.
If you would like a third sign for our baseball field it will cost an additional $500.
In this program, sponsors will be able to have their business logo placed in three different areas: on the bleachers located at the sports complex, on the wall in the gym, and on the scrolling scoreboards. The signs will be 20”by 24”and they will be displayed from September 2017 through August 2018. The cost for this option will be $500. These corporate sponsors will also receive one activity pass so they can attend any home athletic event they wish.
