JUNETEENTH FESTIVAL OF THE CAROLINAS

Food Vendor Application

Note:

 

•        All vendor spaces will be assigned before set up. Please provide your table and tent (if required) for set-up. All fees are non-refundable.

•        All food vendors are responsible for providing their electrical power and water. Please review and complete carefully the attached requirements for festival food vending. Environmental Health Services requires strict adherence to all conditions set forth. The Food Vendor Health Department form is due by May 14, 2025 (no exceptions).

•        Non-North Carolina Food Vendors must provide receipts of all purchases from a reputable store to the Health Department - Health Department Rule.

•        Insurance coverage: Each vendor is responsible for his/her insurance coverage. Juneteenth Festival will not be responsible for personal injury, loss, or theft of property.

•        Trash: Each vendor is responsible for keeping his/her area clean! Please include a $25 street maintenance fee (along with your vendor fee) to assist with the final clean-up.

•        Late fee: Please include a $100 fee for all applications received after May 14, 2025.

•        All food vendor balances must be paid in full by May 14, 2024. Send/make payments at House of Africa, 1215 Thomas Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28205 or pay online.

•        Food vendors will not be allowed to pay at the festival site.

GUIDELINES

In signing this agreement for the Juneteenth Festival’s vendor participants agree to each and

all clauses outlined in this agreement. Failure by the vendor participants to abide by any clauses outlined in this agreement gives the Juneteenth Festival of the Carolinas and authorized agents of Juneteenth Festival of the Carolinas the right to (1) immediately terminate this agreement; (2) require vendor participant, immediately upon notice of violation of this agreement, to cease operations and vacate the premises; and (3) forfeit any fees paid to the Juneteenth Festival of the Carolinas for the right and privilege of participating in the vendor area of the festival. No clauses of this agreement may be changed in any way or altered without the written, signed permission of the Juneteenth Festival of the Carolinas.

1.        The Juneteenth Festival of the Carolinas is a tax-exempt 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization whose primary function is to celebrate freedom and emphasize education and achievement. The monies received from this application will go directly toward costs associated with producing this festival and/or scholarship.***Please note that any/all monies received from vendors wishing to participate in the Juneteenth Festival of the Carolinas and vendors who cancel before the start of the festival will not receive a refund.

2.        Anyone wishing to sell or serve food and/or beverages at the festival must complete this agreement and apply for à temporary food establishment permit from the Mecklenburg County Health Department. Please contact Mecklenburg County Health Department at (704)336-5524 for health safety regarding the application for a permit. To obtain a form, visit the website at https://www.charmeck.org, select forms, and applications, and choose à temporary food service establishment application. This application is also on our website.

3.        Vendor participants shall not display, offer for view, or sell any illegal or contraband items at the Juneteenth Festival of the Carolinas. The laws of the state of North Carolina and local ordinances of the City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County shall control the regulation of such illegalities. Vendors shall not sell items that are unlicensed and/or copies/interpretations of licensed or registered items at any sites and operations of the Juneteenth Festival of the Carolinas.

4.        Vendor participants shall not display, offer for view, take orders for, or sell any items that are imprinted, emblazoned, or marked in any manner with any/all the words: Juneteenth Festival of the Carolinas”, even when printed with other words. Nor shall vendors offer artwork with any variations of these words without the written consent of the Juneteenth Festival of the Carolinas.

5.        Vendor participants shall not sublet space to anyone else, nor allow a non-profit agent to share a space.

6.        All illegally parked vehicles will be subject to towing at the owner’s expense.

7.        Vendor participants acknowledge and understand that they are responsible for sales and use tax and shall in no way hold the Juneteenth Festival of the Carolinas or its representatives responsible for any types of permits, licenses, or insurance, excluding the obligatory liability insurance coverage for the Juneteenth Festival of the Carolinas itself.

8.        The Juneteenth Festival of the Carolinas will provide Security at the site but is not responsible for any loss or stolen property.

9.        The Juneteenth Festival of the Carolinas will make no representation or guarantees toward actual attendance.

10.        Vendor participants understand that the Juneteenth Festival of the Carolinas has no control over the weather, acts of God, acts of terrorism, governmental interventions, or any other cause that may prevent and/or interrupt the Juneteenth Festival of the Carolinas, and participants shall not hold the Juneteenth Festival of the Carolinas responsible for any losses that should arise due to such events.

11.        The Juneteenth Festival of the Carolinas reserves the right to place vendors where it chooses. Vendors can, however, request specific placement, but the final decision will be that of the Festival and will be based on first come first served. Primary Spots will be based on first-come, first-served, and are priced at a different fee.  Exclusivity of vendor type will need to pay for all of the locations allocated for that vendor type.

12.        "We reserve the right as the sole vendor of Raw Shea Butter and Raw Black Soap."
