Keep an Appetite for READING this Summer!
Research shows that children who do not continue reading through the summer can lose a month or more of progress made during the school year. To help keep appetites up for reading, get your child involved in some of the following local reading programs!

Mason Public Library

Registration begins May 28.

Choose your goal. You can either track hours, books, or days. Parents are welcome to adjust goals to fit their child's ability.

Cincinnati Public Library – Symmes Township Branch

Visit the Library starting June 1 to begin your Summer Reading adventure! This year, there are new challenges for kids and teens, awesome activities for all ages, and fun family-friendly events all summer long!  Program ends July 31st.

Half Price Books - Feed Your Brain Program

June 1 - July 31

Sign up for HPB's Summer Reading Camp! Starting June 1 all registered campers will be able to download printable camp components all summer long, including book recommendation lists, craft and activity ideas, coloring sheets, and reward stickers. Check out the schedule and register your camper to join in on the fun!  Readers will receive a $5 gift card!

Barnes and Noble Bookstore

Read any eight books this summer and record them in this Summer Reading Journal. Tell us which part of the book is your favorite, and why. Bring your completed journal to a Barnes & Noble store between July 1 and August 31, 2024.  Choose your free reading adventure from a list of books.

Scholastic

From May 9th through September 12th, kids can visit the summer zone in Scholastic Home Base, a completely free digital destination that offers stories, characters, games, and a community of readers. Home Base is moderated for safety 24/7.
