ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR THE TRIPLE CROWN OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS:

COMPETITION JUDGING SYSTEM

An overall impression scoring system is used whereby the judging panel will score the competitor out of 100 points by looking at the overall routine, how the run progresses and flows and the amplitude, difficulty, variety and execution of all tricks.

- Amplitude means the height of the tricks performed.

- Difficulty refers to not only the tricks performed but also the placement of the tricks and the combinations used.

- Variety refers to a good mix of Standard Airs and Rotations, performed on each feature.

- Execution refers to the stability, fluidity and control of manoeuvres performed.

Judges are looking at how the competitor puts together the run to show a variety of tricks that are well executed and difficult. The judges look at falls as not only affecting the trick attempted, but also impacting the rest of the run through lost momentum. Judge also considers the competitor’s intensity, smoothness and slope use, thus high amplitude and higher risk taking with excellent execution will increase a competitor’s score.

TRIPLE CROWN OVERALL TOUR RANKING:

At each event an overall ranking will be determined for M/F, Ski/Snowboard categories regardless of age, in the afternoon Champs event (2+2 format). This is known as the overall ranking. According to their overall rank at each event, each rider will be awarded tour points according to this table:-

As competitors attend each event so they accumulate tour points.
