Associate & Senior Therapist Job Description

GT Therapy Group, PLLC is a thriving private pay group practice in the heart of West Campus by the University of Texas. We specialize in group therapy and family systems therapy across the lifespan. We work with parents & families of all ages, tweens & teens, emerging adults and adult individuals & couples. An Associate or Senior Therapist at GT Therapy Group, PLLC  provides outpatient individual, family, couples and group therapy at our West Campus office.  The Associate/Senior Therapist reports to GT Therapy Group owners & directors, Blake Norton & Tracy Tanner.

Minimum Skills and Qualifications: An Associate or Senior Therapist at GT Therapy Group is a provisionally licensed or licensed therapist in the state of Texas (LMSW, LCSW, LPC-Intern, LPC, LMFT-Associate, LMFT, PhD, PsyD, PMHNP). Therapist has a desire to to work collaboratively with our directors and team of therapists. Therapist values regular consultation, interdependence, and is comfortable with communicating virtually, verbally, in writing and in person. Therapist is familiar with Google Drive and its functions.

Other Skills and Qualifications: Therapist is creative, driven, and committed to both their own professional development and the integrity of the group practice and its therapists. Therapist may have additional training or specialities outside of their postgraduate studies such as DBT, ACT, PACT, EMDR, IFS, etc.

Schedule and Hours: Work hours and schedule may vary depending on client and GT Therapy Group needs. Hours include at least 3 evenings (till 8 or 9pm) and/or weekends. Therapist is not guaranteed a minimum number of clients or sessions per week. However, it is expected that Therapist will be available to hold at least 15 client sessions per week (with opportunity for further growth) and facilitate at least one group, provided such sessions are available and referred/scheduled by GT Therapy Group. Outside marketing is not required by Therapist, although Therapist will be expected to work with and coordinate care with other providers (both internally and externally).

Job Duties and Responsibilities: Therapist will provide individual, couple, family and group psychotherapy. Therapist is responsible for maintaining timely, quality records in our EHR, as well as processing client payments and communicating with clients about fees. Therapist is responsible for returning potential and current client phone calls & emails within 24 business hours. Attendance at monthly team meeting and twice-monthly clinical consultation & in-house CEUs is mandatory (currently 1st, 2nd & 4th Thursdays 11-12:30). Outside of the broad requirements for availability, Therapist is responsible for setting his or her own schedule and coordinating scheduling with clients. Therapist will contribute one blog post per month to the GT Therapy Group blog on a topic of choice.
