Course Description:  This course is designed to give student the basics in algebraic concepts.  Our units include:  Patterns in algebra and rulemaking, understanding the language of algebra, algebraic expressions and the distributive property, solving one step equations, solving two step equations, pythagorean theorem, matrices in algebra and data analysis.

Course Expectations and Assessments

        Two skill sheets per week are given which serve as quiz grades.  There will be 3 major assessments each marking period and a BENCHMARK.  Many primary grades will be project-based.

Course Policies 

        There are no retakes for quizzes

           In order to retake a test a student must have completed all the homework that would have been         covered for that test.  Students may opt to make corrections on assessments for half credit back.

Required and Recommended Materials 


        If a student needs extra help they may see me so we can set up a time to meet.  After school homework clinic every Tuesday and Thursday in the library.  There are also on-line sites that offer support.
