Intro: Welcome to Into the Nexus! The Heroes of the Storm podcast!
On this episode of Into the Nexus, Garrett and Kyle are in defense of patches! Folks aren’t happy with the recent Balance Update, but Kyle believes there are some hidden gems amongst the rubble that could show us the future developer plans. The guys carry that energy into critiquing moldy and under picked twenty talents. Finish off the show with a trip down esports memory lane with listener submitted mailbag questions. Enjoy the show and see you next week!

Folks Aren’t happy with the recent patch
Random Redditor Says: “This just goes to show the DEVs have no idea what they are doing or don't even play the game but rather just look at some plain statistics. We as a community give them so much information, guidance, feedback, and yet we get a poor patch such as this after a month of waiting, truly, truly disappointed. 3/10
Grubby was generous with the 5/10 you can notice the lack of excitement about pretty much any of the changes, nothing game-changing, nothing that would shift the meta, not enough nerfs to certain heroes who always pick or ban.”

Do you think the focus of the CCL, Heroes Lounge, and NGS should be to classify organized play of HotS & Pro play as Esports, or do you think the HotS community should reject the Esports classification and redefine it based on the game & game modes. The cancelation of HGC event traumatized the HotS community causing so much suffering, now that we see people returning, I fear chasing after Esports recognition will hurt the growing community and draw comparisons to more successful MOBA Esports which is like comparing shooting a bullet and throwing one.... with HotS being the throwing one. We do need organized play though, it is probably the best and most intense HotS experience playing in an organized team. Just don't think calling HotS organized play a Esport will be healthy given the past, and think we need a better term like Oplay, Organized Storm League, or even Professional Storm League.... thoughts?

What are Kyle and Garrett's thoughts on the words "Pro" when used in the context of HOTS. For Super Smash Bros, the pros are people who have won major events, but major events prize winnings can be as low as $500. Making their average income lower than CCL or even lower than many events I have run. Does this mean there is an arbitrary line in the sand about skill level? Or something else? My real question is, when can I go back to my series "why the pros play"?
