ELY AND DISTRICT LEAGUE

Matches in the Ely and District Mixed Afternoon league consists of three rinks of three players. Each rink plays 18 ends with a centred cot/jack and a point is scored for each of your team’s bowls that are nearer to the jack than any of the opponents bowls. A match point is awarded for each winning rink and three extra match points are awarded to the side with the highest aggregate score. Hence, the maximum number of points awarded for a win is 6.

All matches are played on Monday or Friday afternoons starting at 2.00pm.

Halfway through the match a light tea is provided consisting of a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit or two. For Longstanton’s home matches, the tea is held outside or in the conservatory of the Longstanton Pavilion.
