Dear Parents,
I am writing as supervisor of the peer tutoring program at LPS. Peer tutoring is available and may help a young student who is struggling in a certain class. This program provides an upper-class student tutor to assist under-class students with some academic problems.
Here are some basics to keep in mind. It is the responsibility of the student seeking help to stay in contact with his/her tutor. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian of the student seeking help to pay the peer tutor. The peer tutor wage is $8.00 per hour and is subject to change. All billing is done through the LPS business office on the student’s account. The student’s classroom instructor will be able to tell if there is any improvement. Please, stay in contact with that instructor either personally or through our school’s online grade book, PowerSchool.
The goal of this program is to develop independent learning skills, while its purpose is to encourage students to use their God given gifts to the best of their ability. Faithful attendance and diligence is how the students can see improvements!
Obviously, any questions or concerns you may have may be addressed to me, Instructor Nottling, either by mail, e-mail, or phone. Please, feel free to do so at any time.
Blessings on your school year,
Prof. Erin Nottling
