‘Preparing each child for their future in an ever-changing world’ CARE - COURAGE - RESPECT - RESPONSIBILITY

14th September 2020 From the Headteacher: Welcome back to the beginning of an unusual Autumn term at school. We are so grateful to have all the children back in our care and happily learning in our classrooms; it is so lovely to hear the school full of chatting, laughing, busy children! They have settled extremely well and all the teachers are amazed with their positive attitudes and willingness to learn. We are so proud of them all. Thank you for all your support with our protective measures, it is much appreciated and will help keep the school community as safe as we can. A very warm welcome to all our new families from Reception and across the school. Hagbourne is a loving, calm and friendly school and we really hope that your children will be happy here. Please look out for Father Jason on the gate on a Tuesday morning. He is our local vicar and the children know him well as he takes Collective Worship for us every week and runs all our church services. Do feel free to say ‘hello’ and ask him any questions.

School Uniform

The new PE jumpers look so smart. If you would like to buy one they are available from Trutex. If anyone is slightly unsure of school uniform rules then please see the school website, alternatively, here is a link to the same information.

Harvest festival The Harvest festival will be held on October 2nd. Father Jason will come into school to take this remotely and all the classes will join. We will be collecting food for the Didcot food bank and ask for tinned and packaged food to be delivered to school between Monday 28th and Wednesday 30th September. This will then allow the food to ‘rest’ before we deliver it to the

food bank.

BBC Own it APP The BBC ‘Own it’ APP and keyboard gives advice to young people as they type. It helps them make smart choices about what they are writing and what they are sharing online. This would be particularly good for children in years 4-6 and older. See the link below if you are interested. Link to APP
