2026-27 Inclement Weather Policy

On rare occasions during the winter months, school hours may be affected due to weather conditions. In the event of inclement weather, Holland Hall will choose from one of the following four options:

1. Closed

School is not in session. Before- and after-school activities/programs, athletics, and on-campus events are canceled.

2. Open

School in session. School begins at the regular time, and all activities, athletics, and on-campus events will proceed as scheduled. (NOTE: Bus service may be canceled when school is open.)

3. Late Start

School begins at 10 a.m. for all branches. There will be no bus service; parents must arrange transportation. There will be no Before-School Club or Early Birds. After-School Club will be available at the regular times.

4. Early Dismissal

School is in session, and students are dismissed early. Parents must arrange to have their children picked up as soon as possible following such notice. Upper School students will be dismissed first to facilitate carpooling. Students not picked up or unable to leave campus immediately will wait for pick-up in the following areas: EPK-6th grades remain with their teachers, 7th-8th grades report to the Tandy Dining Hall, 9th-12th grades stay in the Upper School Commons. There will be no after-school bus service, Primary-to-Middle-School Transfer, athletic practices, After-School Club, or on-campus events.

The school will notify the community of its status by text or email and on the school’s website. Closings will then be submitted to the area media outlets.

Holland Hall community members should always put safety first when traveling during inclement weather. The school relies on our families to decide if a student can safely come to school on time, or at all, or if the student should leave school early if icy weather conditions threaten. If conditions in your area are such that you cannot come to school, please call your Branch office as early as possible.
