A. M-Step 2016 Results – Brandi-Lyn Mendham, Holly Boehle and Julie Paterick gave a presentation regarding the 2016 M-Step results, which showed an increase in test scores in 5 out of 6 grades tested. These results need to be celebrated! ZPS is full of dedicated students, great teachers, and a caring community. After months of work by teachers to re-align curriculum and re-dedicate efforts in all areas, especially reading, these test results are the reward of hard work by all involved. A special congratulations should be extended to Dr. Brandi Mendham, Director of Curriculum.
B. Construction Update for Summer 2017 Projects – Lynn VanKampen gave an update on 2017 projects: Creekside Middle School, Roosevelt Elementary, ZQuest, East High School office, East High School media center, and the DeWitt Center for the Arts. Next month will include a photo tour and most likely an updated financial status. We are still ahead of schedule and still under budget on all projects, with the exception of DeWitt, which is right on schedule as planned.
C. Construction Update for 2018 Projects – Lynn VanKampen presented information on the addition at West High School and renovations at Cityside Middle School, scheduled for summer 2018 construction. Many meetings and conversations took place to determine best fit needs within cost constraints for these additions and renovations, especially the West High School addition. The bid process is scheduled for November.
