ELESIG: Research Journey focused on Student Experience of Slack

A research journey can be a lonely and difficult road. ELESIG webinars offer a space to learn from each other. Richard Walker has recently published a study of student experiences of Slack. In this webinar Richard will talk through the process of developing the project and the research process through to publishing. EdTech National Webinar Series
A series of webinars curated by the Delivery Partner and supported by multiple EdTech Demonstrators. The EdTech Demonstrator Programme, developed and supported by the Department for Education, hopes to reach thousands of publicly-funded schools and colleges in England to enable them to access free support with technology, to enhance their teaching and learning practises.  If schools or colleges are interested in exploring this option, they can register their interest here. Support is also provided through a series of webinars that are curated by us as the delivery partner and feature multiple EdTech Demonstrator schools and colleges on a range of topics. These webinars are also free-to-join.

Call for Proposals - Academic Practice and Technology (APT2022) conference, Friday July 1st, 2022        
This year’s conference theme is “Shaping academic practice through diversity and flexibility” and will be at the UCL campus, supported by online events and resources. It intends to maximise face-to-face engagement through activities including workshops, round tables etc. We invite proposals across a wide range of formats and sub-themes (see website) and will especially value proposals which include student authors/contributors. The deadline for contributions is 6 May 2022.

Call for Proposals by 11 Feb: Higher Education for Good #HE4Good
All are invited to submit chapter proposals for the upcoming book 'Higher Education for Good: Teaching and Learning Futures', edited by Laura Czerniewicz and Catherine Cronin. Contributors are invited to share nuanced critical perspectives, to rethink histories, to offer alternative imaginaries, and to consider preferable futures. The editors welcome contributions in a variety of forms including academic articles, essays, poetry and speculative fiction. See updates at #HE4Good.

We want to understand the personal and pedagogical impact of receiving student feedback on higher education teaching staff, and understand how higher education staff are trained to process and understand student feedback. DCG Spotlight on digital capabilities: Digital skills, a priority or lip service?        
Often, digital skills are said to be strategic priorities, often mentioned in university strategies and KPIs. However, the rhetoric does not always result in investment and action. The pandemic has highlighted the digital capabilities gaps and needs of staff and students.
