NIRSA Annual Service Award Committee Charges

Last Updated: February 2022

Description

The NIRSA Annual Service Award Committee works with NIRSA Headquarters to administer and promote the NIRSA Annual Service Award program. These awards are designed to recognize outstanding contributions to NIRSA and the field of collegiate recreation through exceptional performance, dedication, creativity, and innovation. This committee reviews applications and uses the selection criteria to award NIRSA professionals and students for their exceptional service to NIRSA in the previous year.

The Committee term is July 1 – April 30, however the bulk of the work for the committee is completed in November and December of each year, during the application review process.

NIRSA’s mission, vision, and strategic values guide the “how” and “why” for our professional development offerings, networking opportunities, and resources, as well as all strategic priorities.  NIRSA committees are expected to fulfill their charges, operate the committee, and make decisions and recommendations consistent with NIRSA’s values and in support of NIRSA’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities.
