Here is what’s happening this week!

ELA

Steve Specht

English Language Arts classes are to be commended for being engaged and working diligently.. We are currently beginning a short exploration of poetry, poetic devices found in song lyrics and selected poems.

Math

Katie Nolan

Students are working on adding, subtracting multiplying and dividing fractions. Students receive weekly homework assignments due every Wednesday.  Please ask students to see

Science

Andy Pond

Students will continue studying Ecosystems, Food webs, and Biodiversity.   We are working on an interactive slideshow in google classroom.

Social Studies

Marcus Blankenship

Social Studies has begun a new unit on the Paleo & Neolithic Periods, and The Five Themes of Civilization. We will explore the earliest human settlements, as well as Ancients Mesopotamia, Egypt, India, & China.

Any work that student’s do not finish in class is considered homework. I also encourage every student to read one article related to a current event or something in history, if they don’t have any other homework/reading for the evening.

In preparation for our next project where we will be creating three dimensional sculptures, we explored the use of glue with an epic glue challenge. Next week we will begin thinking about how to construct a face three dimensionally.
