Dear Parents,

Progress reports were emailed home last Wednesday; if you did not receive your child’s or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact one of the middle school teachers.

Pig Races - Wednesday, December 6, from 10 AM - 12 PM

Our annual Pig Races is a special assembly filled with fun and games centered around team competition. The entire TCS student body will be divided up into teams of different colors. The Races will be held on Wed., Dec. 6th. Set-up will begin at 8:30 am in the gym. Mrs. Barnett needs some parent volunteers to help set up for the Races. Please let me know if you can help out. The event will be 10 am - Noon.  Plan on joining us for a fun time!

TCS Christmas Concert - Tuesday, December 19th, 7 PM

Invite your family and friends to this wonderful evening of music and singing!

Please do not be late; this is a big part of their Music grade.

Late Start - Wednesday, December 20th

Wednesday, December 20 will be a late start @ 9:25am. School will not begin at 8:25

Middle/High School Christmas Celebration - Friday, December 22

‘Tis the season to be jolly! Join us as we celebrate the birth of our Savior on the last day before Christmas break. Middle/High school students and teachers will be walking to Brookfield's restaurant for breakfast and then back to campus for a Christmas gift exchange game. Information regarding the trip to Brookfield's restaurant will be sent home as soon as details are available.  Students should also bring a wrapped gift with no names on it if they wish to participate in the gift-exchange game. This gift should range from $5 - $10 and appropriate for either a boy or a girl grades 6 - 9.

On this day, students will be allowed to wear any Christmas themed apparel to school (please dress modestly). The middle school and high school will be having an “Ugly” Christmas sweater contest, and the winner will receive a  prize.

TCS Christmas Break - Monday,  December 25 - Monday, January 7

Friday, December 22 is a Minimum Day & No Daycare will be available. Students must be picked up at 12:00 noon.

Christmas Break  - All facilities closed December 25th - January 1st, Monday - Monday.

School will resume on Tuesday, January 8, 2018 (Daycare available 2nd - 5th, Tuesday - Friday)

Middle School Teachers

THIS WEEK:

Bible (Mr. Ortiz):

This week we will be discussing King David and principles we can learn from his life. The scripture for this week is Psalm 51:1-2. This is to be memorized by Friday.

Language Arts (Mrs. Johnson):

Students will take the List 13 spelling test on Friday.  In grammar, students will conclude their study of sentence structure with a comprehensive test on Tuesday - this test covers Units 1 - 4. In literature, students have been studying character and will write a character sketch based on a character from the story “Last Cover.”

*Students should continue to study their ACSI Spelling Bee words.

Math (Mrs. Northman):

Students will complete Lessons 48, 49 and 50 and an Investigation on creating graphs.  There will be Cumulative Test #9 is on Friday, December 8th covering up to unit 50.

Please check Jupiter Grades regularly.  If your student receives a C or lower on ANY assignment, he/she must make corrections and turn it back in by the test date.  

Math 7/6 (Mrs. Johnson):

Students will complete Lessons 51 - 54.

Social Studies (Mrs. Daniel):

Students will review Chapter 8 on Monday and Tuesday.  The chapter test will be on Thursday, December 7th.  Students should do the majority of studying on Monday and Tuesday with a quick overview on Wednesday.  There is no history class on Wednesday due to Pig Races.  Students were emailed a link to our class Quizlet site.  This is a great way to study, but students should also review section quizzes and Activity 5 in the Activity Manual.

Science: (Mrs.Northman):

Students will take a test on Chapter 6 on Tuesday.  On Wednesday we will begin a unit on Genetic Changes and Biotechnology.  We will be learning about Mutations, Genetic Engineering, Cloning and Stem Cell Technology.

Music (Dr. Muntean):

Preparing for Christmas Concert.
