Practices

• Practice will start on Monday, August 18 in the WWA Gymnasium.
• Practice will be Monday through Thursday, 3:30-5:30 pm during the season except for game days.
• No practices: September 1, September 29, and  October 8-10 due to days we do not have school  and  Parent/Teacher Conferences, and  October 16 gym unavailable..
• October 14-17 6th graders are away at Outdoor Lab.  7th/8th grade practice TBD.
• Optional Extra Practices: 9/29 for A Team, 10/9 for B Team

Games      All games: B Team will play at 415 and A Team will play at 515

Playoffs Game time(s) based on record from the season and will be announced the week before

Athletic Celebration

Volleyball players will be recognized at the Athletic Celebration on Friday, October 24 at 2:30 in the WWA Dining Commons.

Volleyball FAQ

1. What do I wear to practice? You will need to wear athletic shorts, a t-shirt, knee pads, and athletic tennis shoes (running shoes are great; however, Converse are not.)
2. Do I need to purchase any specific equipment (knee pads, shin guards, shorts, ball, etc…)? Knee pads and tennis shoes
3. What do I do between the end of school and the start of practice at 330? Once school gets out, you will go out of the building to stand/wait with your class during dismissal. Once the coach is ready (usually around 330), they will let you in the building to change and get ready for practice.
4. May I go back to my locker at 330 when we go in for practice?

No, you may not go back in to the middle school or intermediate areas to use your locker.

5. What if I want to go to Homework Club (6th grade) or ZAP (7th and 8th grade) to work on my homework?

Great! Go to those opportunities until they end at 330 and then join your team down in the gym to get ready for practice/the game.

6. What time do I need to be at the game when it is at another school? Please be at the other school 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the game.
7. What do I do when it is a home game?

        Students will stay out front with their class until 3:30, per normal. At 3:30, the

coaches will let the student in to change and warm up prior to game start.

8. What do I wear to school on home game days? For HOME GAMES, please wear nice “dress” clothes to school. Please no jeans.
9. What do I wear to school on away game days? For AWAY GAMES, please wear jeans and your jersey.
10. How do I get to/from away games?

Students must provide their own transportation to/from away games. Carpool list will be provided to parents if you opted to participate in that on the

registration form. Coaches cannot transport students to/from away games.

11. What is the fee for games/tournaments?

There are NO gate fees for any games, including tournaments this year.

12. Can my sibling stay after school prior to the game, too?

No, any students not playing in that game will not have supervision after 3:30pm, just like a normal school day. Siblings are allowed to attend the game with parent supervision. 7th and 8th grade students may attend unchaperoned as long as their behavior is appropriate.

13. What do I do with my uniform after the season is over? Please return your uniform to the coach immediately after the last game of the season. You should bring a change of clothes on that day so you can change and give her your jersey.
