COVID-19 PROTOCOLS FOR
SYMPTOMATIC AND CLOSE CONTACT STUDENTS

If you have symptoms of COVID-19 (regardless of vaccination status) 

  1. Do not come to school or to a school district building/event.
  2. Notify the school office.
  3. Contact your health care provider or the County to inquire about testing.
  4. If your test is negative and you are still ill:
  1. Return to school when you are feeling better and have been symptom free for 24 hours.  
  1. If your test is positive:
  1. Remain out of the building for 10 days from the onset of your symptoms and 24 hours symptom free or, as advised by your healthcare provider, the State or County.  
  2. Notify the school office.
  3. Identify close contacts (within 3ft for 15 consecutive minutes or more) at school in the two days prior to your onset of symptoms, and inform your Principal. 
  4. Forward documentation (test results, quarantine information and/or a release) from your healthcare provider, the State or County to the school office. 
  5. Home tests are not accepted.

If you are a close contact (have been within 3ft for 15 consecutive minutes or more) of an individual who has tested positive and have NOT been vaccinated

  1. Do not come to school or to a school district building/event.
  2. Notify the school office. If you were identified as a close contact at school, you will be notified by the school/district and/or the County.
  3. Contact your health care provider or the County to inquire about testing. 
  4. Test on the 6th or 7th day  from your last date of exposure with the positive individual.
  5. If you test negative: 
  1. You may return to school on the 8th day as long as you remain symptom free and mask for 14 days from the last date of exposure.
  1. If you test positive:
  1. Remain out of school until your quarantine ends, as advised by your healthcare provider, the State or County.  
  2. Notify the school office.
  3. Identify close contacts (within 3ft for 15 consecutive minutes or more) at school in the two days prior to your test or the onset of any symptoms and inform the school office.
  4. Forward documentation (test results, quarantine information and/or a release) from your healthcare provider, the State or County to the school office.
  5. Home tests are not accepted.

If you are a close contact (have been within 3ft for 15 consecutive minutes or more) of an individual who has tested positive and you ARE vaccinated

  1. If asymptomatic, you may attend school. You are not required to quarantine.
  2. Testing is recommended within 5-7 days of close contact exposure or onset of symptoms if you become symptomatic. Contact your healthcare provider or the County to inquire about testing.  
  3. Monitor for symptoms and wear a mask for 14 days
  4. If you become symptomatic within 14 days, do not come to school or to a district building/event.
  1. Notify the school office.
  2. Contact your health care provider or the County to inquire about testing. 
  3. If you test negative:
  1. Return to school when you are feeling better and have been symptom free for 24 hours.  
  1. If you test positive:
  1. Remain out of school until your quarantine ends, as advised by your healthcare provider, the State or County.  
  2. Notify the school office.

Testing is available to you at no cost.

Students ages 5 and above are currently eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccination.

Please be reminded that this situation is fluid and communications will be updated as changes occur.  All communications are available for review on the District website under Staff Resources.
