Introduction

Starting June 21, 2021, two service delivery models are being offered for center-based students:

  1. Full-time in-person instruction in our school building.
  2. Continued remote instruction with no-in person contact with staff. Instruction is delivered virtually and with updated educational materials delivered to the student as needed. Instruction is provided to each participating student for 5 days a week according to our current school calendar. This option is only available to students who have a documented medical need to remain in a distance learning status.

For students receiving services through our Outreach department, we are delivering services either in their homes or in the school setting. The exact session length and frequency of sessions is determined on a case by case basis per agreement with each student’s sending school district or insurance carrier. For additional information, please see the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Outreach Consultation and Direct Service Policy.

Each family is being provided with a list of Daily Health Screening questions. In order to receive services for your child in the home you must agree to notify The Birchtree Center, by calling the front desk for center-based students and your direct service provider for Outreach students, if your student does not meet the outlined health criteria on the screening as soon as you are aware each morning. Additionally, we ask you to carefully monitor your child’s overall health status and proactively cancel home based services if you believe they are not feeling well for any non COVID-19 related illness. If your child is well and able to participate in home-based instruction, the Daily Health Screening form will be completed when the Birchtree staff member arrives at your home each day.
