CT State Outdoor Track & Field Open Championship Meet Highlights:

• Bryan McLean placed 6th in the 100m dash (Qualified for New England Championships)
• Byron McLean placed 2nd in the 110m hurdles (Qualified for New England Championships)
• Boys 4x100m relay placed 4th (Qualified for New England Championships) – Quincy Carter, Jaylen Titus, Byron McLean, Byran McLean

New England Outdoor Track & Field Championship Meet Highlights

• Boys 4x100m relay placed 9th – Quincy Carter, Jaylen Titus, Byron McLean, Byran McLean
• Bryan McLean placed 7th in the 100m dash

Out of Season Coaching change

• The CAS and CIAC have voted on and made a change to the out of season coaching rules in the state. From June 24th-August 9th coaches can run full practices with their teams 2 days a week for 2 hours. That has begun for us and a calendar has been created and shared with Dennis O’Connell.

Updates

• Senior Max Netto was chosen to play in the Connecticut High School Coaches Association Senior Baseball All-Star Game

• Senior Kobe Marroquin was recognized at the Southern Connecticut Diamond Club as the Derby “No I in Team” award recipient and was honored at their annual banquet

• The Derby softball team raised and donated $3500 to The Hewitt Center for Breast Wellness at Griffin Hospital from the PINK day of games

• Quincy Carter, Jaylen Titus, Byron McLean, Byran McLean were honored at the CHSCA Outdoor Track & Field All-State Banquet for their 4x100m relay Class S State Championship

Baby Clothes and Toys Swap 6:30pm-7:30pm - Look around your home for baby clothes and toys you'd like to trade in! Every item you bring will be exchanged for a ticket you can then trade for a new-to-you item. Only items in good condition will be allowed. All participants must arrive by 6:45pm in order to take part.

Summer Reading 2024 End Games! 1pm - 7pm - This all-ages, in-person event will be held throughout the library including our garden. We’ll be having a Bluey Storytime, experimenting with unpoppable bubbles, make a giant batch of slime, and that’s just for the kids! Adults are invited to join us in the DIY Zone to make their own tote bags and to join the Ethereal Lounge for some tabletop gaming! We’ll have food, ice cream, cotton candy, video games and so much more! Kids can spend the points they’ve earned by reading this summer on treats, games, and a chance to super-soak the staff with a DUNK TANK! Kids will get an extra raffle ticket just for attending, as well as the opportunity to check out more books to get even more raffle tickets!
