TŌTARA CAMP 2018 - Wainui
Attention: ALL CURRENT YEAR 6 AND YEAR 7 STUDENTS
Kia Ora Whanau
It is time to start thinking about camp for 2018. Next year we will be attending Wainui camp. We are getting on to this early as we go on camp in very early on in Term 1. We would like to get all health information and parent helpers sorted before the end of the year. Especially since we need to complete police vetting for parent helpers. It is BOT policy that parent helpers be vetted every 12 months.
We are trying to collect all camp information digitally, so all forms are attached on this notice and you can fill them in online. We would prefer that you did it this way, but if you are unable to access this notice online then please either see your class teacher or email them to get a paper copy. Having everything digitally makes is easier and quicker for collation and reduced the amount of paper considerably. A digital copy of this notice will be on school website, shared to those who have the school app and on the Hīnau and Tōtara blog pages. If we have your email address you may also receive it via email.
CAMP 1:
Monday 19th February - Wednesday 21st February
CAMP 2:
Wednesday 21st February - Friday 23rd February
At this stage we are unable to confirm which camp your child will be attending as class lists for 2018 have not been confirmed.
We will need 3 parents per home class, so 15 parents in total. If you are wanting to be a camp parent please click on the link to fill in the form to express your interest. If we have more than we need a ballot will be held during week 8 (we need class lists to be completed to do this). The parent volunteer form needs to be filled in by Friday 1 December.
To be a camp parent, it would be expected that you:
As mentioned above we want to collect all health information and permission slips before the end of the year. This helps us with planning and getting all the health and safety requirements completed before the end of the year. Both forms are attached below. Apologies for the number of questions, but due to changes in Health and Safety legislation we are now required to complete all the requirements.
Permission and Health Information
We would like both of these form completed by the end of week 7 (Friday 1 December), before that would be great. If you have any further questions please feel free to see me (Felicity Fahey) or your class teacher. It is our hope and expectation that all students attend school camp.
Thank you, Steph Hunter
