Dear WPS Families:

We had a great opening day in the WPS! The weather may be dreary, but the energy and enthusiasm is high!

Unfortunately, the weather forecast is predicting heavy rain with 4-6” of precipitation expected. Our Operations Department will be inspecting our buildings very early tomorrow morning. Heavy rain and high winds also sometimes result in power outages or road closures that impact bus routes. Hopefully, there won’t be any issues tomorrow, but just in case we need to communicate with families tomorrow morning, please make sure that you have updated your contact information in Aspen for the 2021-2022 school year. Directions were included in the back-to-school letter on August 25th.

As a reminder, the district communicates urgent messages to families via an automated phone call, email, Twitter (@westwood_ps), and by posting on the District website homepage (www.westwood.k12.ma.us). Should the need arise, I will communicate with you as early in the morning as possible. For further information, please consult this FAQ document.

Sincerely,

Emily J. Parks

Superintendent
