Old Business: Personnel Manual updates approved in the November 19, 2024 Executive Committee were incorporated into the revised Personnel Manual. Still interviewing new hires regarding best practices in “onboarding new staff.”
New Business:
1. Four hearing and variances regarding septic systems. Two staff reports, including Environmental Health: annual sewage contractor workshop was held for receipt of 6 CEUs to renew registration for 2025. This was held at Licking County Library on 11/22/24, with 70-75 attendees.
2. Indoor Environmental Health: Issued 166 residential and commercial plumbing permits in November 2024; The Food Program completed 125 standard risk facilities inspections, and they are ahead by 91 inspections for the licensing year. The Food Safety program was surveyed by ODH on Dec. 3-5 and passed. All required school inspections for the fall quarter are completed.
3. Nursing Public Health: Summary chart of Communicable Disease comparison for November (unremarkable); number of COVID (299) and flu vaccines (952) given in October and November. Plans for a February 22, 2025 Community Baby Shower to celebrate pregnant and new moms with education, community resources, raffles, and giveaways. The Health Dept and 6 other community agencies will be on site.
4. Maternal and Child Health: Served 47 Head Start clients in November. Working with ODH and other local agencies to focus on the WIC program.
5. Health Promotion: Presented new staff member in grant for tobacco reduction/cessation program. Presented graphs on infant car seat distributions, Uber health rides provided, appointment types, drug overdose information by year.
6. Health Commissioner: Provided overview of Licking County Health Department regulations for vaping vendors, which includes who is affected. Commissioner also discussed permit fees, fines, health dept notifications, inspections, letters of warnings, unannounced inspections. The regulations were listed in the Advocate on December, 18, 2024 and became effective December 28, 2024.
7. Approved 12 Resolutions with 12 entities.
