RESOLUTION OF THE TILLAMOOK COUNTY DEMOCRATS

RESOLUTION NO. 2022-04-28

REGARDING Support of the Tillamook Bay Community College (TBCC)

Bond Levy

WHEREAS, the Democratic Party is bound by core beliefs that tie the party together: Democrats believe that we are greater together than we are on our own, that this country succeeds when everyone gets a fair shot, when everyone does their fair share, and when everyone plays by  the same rules, and

WHEREAS, Healthcare is a necessary, crucial need for all of us, and

WHEREAS, there is a lack of adequate professional healthcare training facilities in the county, and

WHEREAS, the TBCC Bond Levy will benefit all the people of Tillamook County, and

WHEREAS, the TBCC Bond Levy is coupled with an $8,000,000 matching grant, and

WHEREAS, the Tillamook Bay Community College is a precious resource developed through public-private partnerships across the County by the people of the County, and

WHEREAS, if the proposed bond measure passes, the tax rate would remain unchanged at an estimated rate of $0.19 per $1,000 of assessed value for a 20-year duration including the years the bonds overlap, and

NOW, THEREFORE, we, the Democratic Party of Tillamook County in our regular meeting of April 28, 2022, in Tillamook, Oregon, do hereby strongly urge the voters of Tillamook County to continue their investment in the Tillamook Bay Community College with a YES VOTE on the May 17, 2022 Bond Levy, Ballot Measure 29-165.
