Do High School or Junior High School students volunteer at your organization? If so, what do they do? *

Yes! Hands Against HungerTM is our highly acclaimed program, which brings people of all ages and abilities together – serving the least of these. We are able to offer this hands-on- experience at the Hope Factory. HAH is a cross-generational program, uniting various age groups (i.e. seniors, married, single, teens, and children) into one place at one time. Everyone who serves for just 2 hours can produce enough Hands Against HungerTM food to feed 1 child for 1 year.

What is your mission and what are the programs that help you fulfill your mission? *

Our mission is to motivate and mobilize the church to care for orphans and vulnerable children in their distress. We encourage the church to care for these special children as part of its mission program. This includes the children within U.S. foster care, the orphans of the world, and vulnerable children suffering from hunger, thirst, and neglect. We believe Jesus Christ is the hope that orphans and vulnerable children need.

Our strategy works locally and globally through Humanitarian Relief, Family Strengthening, and Orphan Care. As advocates for orphans and vulnerable children, we reach thousands of children daily with critically needed supplies that nourish the body and the soul.

Volunteers produce the Hope Boxes and each box contains critically needed Food, Water, and Life packs. Hands Against Hunger food packs are high-protein food products prepared by volunteers. Each food pack has 21 essential vitamins and minerals, 6 dried vegetables, highly fortified soy protein, and rice. When prepared in boiling water, each bag can feed 6 small children. Hope Water Packs produces clean drinking water from available water sources. Hope Life Packs provides either story of hope and encouragement or limited over-the-counter medicine.

Who benefits from your services? *

A Child’s Hope International served the country of Swaziland for many years. ACHI has delivered over 6,600 Hope Boxes™ per year. This equates to almost 1,425,600 high-protein meals and over 660,000 gallons of clean drinking water for the children of Swaziland each year.

A Child’s Hope International also served twenty-seven other countries over the years. The total number of Hope Boxes™ delivered over one year is approximately 27,500 Hope Boxes™ or 6,000,000 high-protein meals served to vulnerable children. ACHI feeds an average of 10,000 children every day.

How do you measure your program's effectiveness? *

We have seen lives changed for the Kingdom now and for eternity. We are feeding over 15,000 children per day. Nearly 120, 000 volunteers have participated in Hope Factory™ events. Nearly 56 million High Protein Food meals have been produced for orphans and vulnerable children. Nearly 12 million gallons of clean drinking water have been supplied in Hope Boxes® Over 120 children have been adopted from international orphanages or cared for by Christian foster care homes.

The first way we could use the money is... *

ACHI would use the grant for the purchase of food ingredients to produce-high protein meals. Volunteers pack 216 high-protein meals into each Hope Box™. Each meal consists of rice, fortified soy protein, 21 vitamins, and 6 dried vegetables. This $1,000-$1,500 grant will provide enough funding to feed 4,000-6,000 vulnerable children.

Do you have a second way to use the grant money?

No

Final Thoughts

We have student groups come to the Hope Factory every month. It is great seeing teens coming together to help those who are vulnerable and need food to survive.

If we can be of any assistance to your group, please let us know.
