HONORS COURSE SELECTION INSTRUCTIONS

for First-Year David B. Falk College of Sport Honors Students (including duals)

Students should register for one 3- or 4-credit Honors course in your first semester. Take the Honors course you find most appealing! You will be contacted by an advisor in Falk College who will help you decide which Honors course you should take during your first semester.

  1. Required Writing course: The Honors version of WRT 105--WRT 109--is offered in two formats. See the descriptions of these courses on the tab above at right. Either of these courses will fulfill the first-semester writing requirement.
  1. Please note that you are not required to take Honors writing to fulfill your writing requirement; however, it is an excellent way to get started on Honors requirements.

  1. Required courses: If you are required to take CHE 106/107 or PSY 205 in your first semester, please be aware that there is an Honors version available that fulfills the same requirement (CHE 109/129 and PSY 209). We recommend that you have a strong background in chemistry for CHE 109/129 (AP chem, for example).

  1. Choosing Honors courses to fill elective/liberal arts slots: If you will be taking an elective course, you can include an Honors course among your elective choices. For descriptions of Honors electives, please see  the courses tab above at right.

  1. Taking two Honors courses in Fall: If you will be taking an elective course, and you have a required course that offers an Honors section, you may be able to take more than one Honors course in your first semester. This is encouraged if it fits your schedule, but it is not required.
