(Newsletter for St. Maximilian Kolbe Knights of Columbus Council 11355)

Faith In Action (Council Programs)

Ice cream social for Feast of Assumption: This year the Assumption falls on a Saturday and the decision has been made to have the crowning of Mary after the 8:30am Mass on  August 15th.  Instead of our usual ice cream social, the Knights will be providing donuts after the crowning.  We will be in the grassy area by the crowning where we usually have the ice cream.  We will be wearing masks, gloves and will be trying to maintain social distancing.  Please use the sign up genius that was sent out to lend a hand.

Helping Hands:  The last 2 years the council has volunteered at Mathew 25 ministries in Blue Ash for 2 hours one Saturday in August.  This year we were supposed to volunteer August 22nd for our Community project.  Due to Covid 19, Matthew 25 has suspended volunteer hours so we will try and reschedule for a later date.

Cross Installation:  St. Max Council has organized the installation of white crosses on the Church campus the last few years representing the lives lost to abortion. This has been one of our main Life programs.  This year we have had 2 problems in maintaining this activity.  We have the covid 19 concerns in trying to get the group together for the installation and the gentleman who owned the Crosses has retired.  We have decided to cancel the activity for this year and regroup to see how we can proceed for future years.

As you know, we have not been able to meet in person at the Church but we have been trying to have meetings virtually using the Go to Meeting app.  Remember that the social meets the first Tuesday of each month at 7pm and Business meeting is the 3rd Monday of the month at 7pm with Rosary at 6:30. Use this link to join:  https://www.gotomeet.me/BrettRose1

Awards:  The council worked hard last year and it looks like we achieved the Columbian award for council programs and we may have a shot at Star Council.  We also received the Bronze award at the Ohio State convention.

New Members:

We have 3 reactivated members that have rejoined us.

We also have 2 new or transferred members  Welcome John Lyden and Gordon Deluse.

Remember that if you know someone that would like to join the Knights they can now join online at kofc.org/joinus.  They can specify St. Max council and the combined degree (1-3)  is being offered virtually every Tuesday and Friday at 7pm.

We are trying out the newsletter format as opposed to sending out a lengthy email.  The newsletter will be posted on the website and we will try to update it routinely and then send out a monthly or quarterly link.  Confidential Council information will not be included so if you know someone that is interested in joining us, you could print a copy for them or send them a link.
