Peer Tutor Job Description
Overview: AAC tutors provide invaluable support to UNCG students by helping them learn and review course content from a variety of classes and subject areas. Tutors support students in achieving their academic goals, provide encouragement to their students, and help their students build confidence and become independent learners.

Tutors must have a cumulative GPA of a 3.0 or higher, and must have earned a B+ or higher in the course(s) they tutor and must be highly recommended by a faculty member in the area they tutor.
Tutors must be available to work a minimum of six hours per week, including one administrative hour and five hours of tutoring. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and strong time management skills.
Training will be provided before tutors begin meeting with students. First-time tutors will be required to participate in ten hours of (paid) training during their first semester with the AAC.
